The work of the international criminal court is based on the principle of complementarity, which does not allow it to investigate and punish international crimes committed, unless it is proven inability, complicity, or sham trial before the national judiciary.

this study aims to shed light on the concept of the principle of complementarity and its supposed effects on the crime of aggression, especially since it is the crime that has finally entered into force after the provision of punishment conditions for it and the expiration of legal deadlines regarding it, by adopting the descriptive and analytical legal approaches.
