In this paper, the researcher focused on three goals : first, he tested the dynamics and diversity of the determinants and indicators of poverty measurement, and in the second, he detected the ideological background to the drawing of poverty reduction strategy papers, and in the third goal, he displayed the three poverty reduction strategies that Mauritania applied from 2001 to 2015 with the support of the international monetary and world bank, the paper reached results, including : the growing compliance of Mauritania with donor conditions in the privatization of the public sector, which led to the layoffs of thousands of workers and the rise of the unemployment rate.

the inability of poverty reduction policies to find a radical solution to the problem of external debt, but rather exacerbated it.

the Mauritanian government wastes a part of the poverty reduction funds in coordination and evaluation process instead of availability of micro-pro-poor projects.
