Abstract EN

Abou el Kacem Saadallah has been known in the cultural field as the father of history in Algeria, but his literary translations are no less important than that.

he had many translations that varied between books, chapters, and articles that dealt with Algeria and its figures during the colonial era.

this study aims to identify the literary translations made by Saadallah with a focus on travel literature through an analytical and descriptive methodology.

it is also intended to determine his translation methodology of this genre.

the study concluded that Saadallah had six translations belonging to different literary genres, using two methods of translation : abstract translation and full translation (or literal).

also, he invested in footnotes and comments.
