The literature of the Mamluk era was known for the spread of the “innovative phenomenon” and exaggeration in it, and the latter received attention from scholars, but their interest in it and their judgment on it was not fair due to the lack of investigation of the reasons for the poets resorting to taking it as a goal to earn.

Rather, it is sufficient for what is superficial.

Knowing that the phenomenon was addressed by many critics, past and present, as offensive to artistic taste and literary beauty.

The contemporary scholar and scholar "Ahmed Fawzi al-Hayeb" comes and reconsiders what he produced of poetry and prose literature in (his book (Artificiality and the Spirit of the Age), shedding light on this phenomenon, investigating the causes, and exploring the dimensions.

He calls for his work on the necessity of fairness of this age and giving it the right The side of the unjust rulings taken around it without taking into consideration the era and the prevailing spirit in it, as what was produced is only a response to the spirit of the age and the requirements of the times.
