Abstract EN

The main aim of this study was to investigate the nature of relationship among poverty, economic growth and environmental degradation in a sample of the Arab oil countries during the period 2002-2019.

In order to achieve this objective, the study adopted panel generalized least squares GLS method.

The basic findings of the study indicated a positive bidirectional relationship between economic growth and environmental degradation.

A positive bidirectional relationship between economic growth and poverty.

However, the bidirectional relationship between poverty and environmental degradation was not significant.
