The issue of missing persons during the Algerian liberation revolution is one of the most important issues that has not been sufficiently addressed and studied.

During the years 1957-1962, Algeria witnessed the disappearance of large numbers of persons without any information on their whereabouts or fate.

These persons were arrested or summoned by the French police for the purpose of investigating them, after which they ceased to be informed and the French occupation authorities denied any connection with their disappearance.

This will be the subject of this article, where we will address the issue of missing persons during the Algerian Revolution, by making a number of points, beginning with the French policy of colonial repression towards the Algerian people and beginning with 1957.

The role of the National Liberation Front (FLN) in demonstrating the cause and defending the rights of missing persons and their families was discussed with examples.

In the latter element, we will address the impact of the issue of missing persons on French and international public opinion and its impact on the Algerian case.
