This scientific contribution comes within the framework of the continuation of the project of inventorying and documenting the rock heritage in southern Morocco in general and Wadi Sayyad in particular, which was launched since 2009, accompanied by a group of professors, colleagues and student researchers to unfold new archaeological discoveries related to rock art in the Oued Noun region.

The site of Mamshamar is one of the new archaeological sites discovered in the upper part of Wadi Sayyad in recent years.

The field investigations carried out in 2011 enabled us to discover this new site, which will be added to the list of rock art sites in Wadi Noun in particular and in Morocco in general.

The discovery will also contribute to enriching the national catalog of rock heritage sites.
