This study aims to address the role of transport workers in the two provinces of Africa, the Proconsulari And Mauretania Caesarea in the transport activity, and their professional conditions according to each category of owners of both types of means of transport, and the carriers of those means and porters, and the role of the Romanian authorities in organizing their activity by accompanying them on the one hand and monitoring them on the other hand in their work.

This social group that worked in the field of transport, their status differed Professional and social according to their ranks, some of them lived a life of luxury, especially with the beginning of the Roman presence as ship owners, and some of them suffered from the hardship and difficulties of work as transporters and porters, and this is due to the quality of roads and means of transport and their loads, and the Roman authorities dealt with those carriers belonging to the two provinces during the higher imperial era.
