Abstract EN

This study aims to shed light on an important period in the history of the East during the sixth and fifth centuries BC, which is the period of the Persian Achaemenid conflict and the Greek cities, and the consequent tense relations and continuous wars that lasted a long time, when the Persians had tried to extend into the east of their lands in search of new spheres of influence.

The oldest of the Achaemenid-Greek relations goes back to the reign of the seventh Achaemenid king Cyrus II (Cyrus the Great), who made Persia a strong and coherent state with expansionist ambitions, and Cyrus worked on expanding the borders of the Persian state, so he controlled the borders of Iran, and it was called (Persia), and expanded towards Asia Minor, seized the kingdom of Lydia, dominated the Greek-Asian cities, and entered into conflict and wars with the Greek-European cities, especially the cities of Sparta andAthens.
