Abstract EN

The Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars took upon itself the task of reforming the Algerian society so it set up schools, mosques, and clubs, and established newspapers such as “Al Bassa`ir” newspaper which was considered the mouthpiece of the association at the beginning of the Algerian revolution of 1954/1962.

All those institutions and businesses were created in order to achieve the association goals and advance Algeria towards freedom and dignity under the banner of reform.

In the first place, this study seeks to highlight the effective role that characterized the reformist press in educating the people, enlightening them, and motivating them to defend their rights.
