The actual research paper aims at revealing the gate keeping theory and its efficient employment in the new communication environment, especially in regards to the developments of this field, which has requested for theories to study the communication and information process in such environment, the dynamic and the constant change characterize today's media environment which differs from what it was used to be before.

therefore the study examines to what extent applying the traditional theories on the new environment and media is efficient.
