Abstract EN

This Qudy is concerned with investigating the role of adult education in achieving suStainable develop- ment from the faculty perspectives in Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University.

As thus, the Study defines the role of adult education in achieving suSiainable human, social, and political developments, as well as the obqacles and chal- lenges that hinder adult education from achieving sustain- able development, and identifies the mogi prominent Qatis- tically significant differences based on the Study variables.

The Study population included only the faculty members in Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University during the second semeSter ofthe academic year 1441-1442.

In so doing, the Qudy adopted the descriptive approach.

The queQionnaire was used to explore the participants' perspectives towards the issue.

Results indicate that adult education plays a major role in achieving sustainable development in local communities in all its dimensions.

To enhance the role of adult education, along with other educational sysftems in achieving the required welfare for members of the local community and addressing their needs, it is recommend- ed to develop laws and regulations that can effectively contribute to enhancing and improving the role of adult education in achieving sustainable development.

Further research is also needed to explore and identify the role of adult education in achieving susftainable development in other aspects including the technological, technical, and industrial dimensions.

Finally, researchers, experts, and specialiQs in Saudi, regional, and international universities are encouraged to conduct more research that contributes .to improving the quality of adult education
