One of the most important and oldest problems experienced by ancient and modern societies was codified by philosophical theories in antiquity and analyzed and explained by economic and social theories in modern times.

This diversity and multiplicity in the sociological heritage of poverty reveals the multiplicity of approaches and theoretical and epistemological approaches that deal with this phenomenon on an ascending chronological scale in an attempt to understand and analyze the various social phenomena linked to poverty.
