Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the level of application of the instructions of the Basel Committee (II) and the Basel Committee (III) in Libyan banks during the period from 2018-2020 and the impact of this on the profitability of the banks.

The study is based on descriptive and inferential statistics to measure the level of application of Basel Committee instructions and its impact on profitability indicators represented in the rate of return on assets, rate of return on equity and net interest margin.

From the application, and that there is a positive effect of applying the instructions of the Basel Committee on both the rate of return on assets and the rate of return on equity, while no significant effect was found for the application of the instructions on the ratio of the net interest margin, and the study recommended paying more attention to the subject of applying the instructions of the Basel Committee, which helps to improve its performance and results of operations, in addition to accurate pricing of various activities that help improve the level of profitability.
