Abstract EN

This study sought to identify the key obstacles facing post-graduate students at the faculties of education in the Saudi universities and developing some proposed solutions to curb these obstacles from their perspectives.

for this purpose, the researchers adopted the descriptive survey approach.

questionnaire was employed for data collection and it was applied to a sample composed of (168) male and female post-graduate students enrolled at the faculties of education at Saudi universities.

the study concluded that among the most administrative obstacles encountering the study population are the lack of financial support for post-graduate students, non-existence of a guidebook including the approved theses and dissertations to be benefited from, neglecting students' participation in setting lecture and exam schedules.

as for the academic obstacles, these include students' poor level of English language, non-existence of a center for statistics to serve students, and dependence on exams as the main benchmark to evaluate graduate students.

the personal obstacles include fear that students experience while defending their theses and dissertation, poor financial and social return after obtaining the degree and lack of clarity for their future after graduation.

the study proposed a number of solutions, namely : utilizing technology and distance-learning for those who are not able to attend lectures physically, motivating distinguished post-graduate students financially, morally and academically, conducing periodic meetings between the deanships of graduate studies and students of the faculties of education to discuss their desires and problems.
