Abstract EN

The research aims to identify the role of information technology in achieving economic development in a number of telecommunications companies of Dohuk governorate, two hypotheses were formulated a base for performing the study.

A questionnaire form was used and distributed to study's sample that contained (48) members.

A number of statistical methods were utilized to analyze and test the hypotheses.

The study has accomplished a set of conclusions, the most important of which are Information technology is necessary, important and essential for economic development, in addition, the research present a number of recommendations including the need of providing an appropriate environment for information technology to create an information society that contributes significantly to achieve economic development.
