this paper discusses the reflection of that international competition between the East and West camps at the region during the war over the Ogaden region (1977-1978), on the atmosphere of the border war that took place between Ethiopia and Somalia, as the change of alliances during the period 1977-1978 that had a great impact in influencing the results of the war.
