Abstract EN

The current research is aimed at the social competence of kindergarten children with high and low selective mutism and the extent to with social efficiency can be predicted through selective mutism in kindergarten children, the study sample consisted of (30) kindergarten children aged 4-6 years, with an arithmetic average of (5,453) and a standard deviation of (0.59058) the researcher used the following tools: the selective mutism scale by the researcher and the social competence scale by the researcher.

the results of the study were as follows: that kindergarten children have an average level of social competence.

there are no statistically significant differences between the the average scores of males and females in sub-dimensions and the overall score on social competence there are no statistically significant differences between the mean of high and low selective mutism scores in sub-dimensions and the overall score of the social competence measure, and research can contribute effectively to educating parents and teachers on appropriate ways to deal with selective mutism in order to achieve positive psychological social and educational outcomes.
