The aim of the current research is to identify the technical characteristics of the nocturne piano OP.56 by Francis Poulenc, to determine the playing skills of the nocturne piano OP.56 by Francis Poulenc after surveying the opinion of professors and experts specialized in the piano field, the researcher dealt with the nocturne piano OP.56 by Francis Poulenc with theoretical and instrumental analysis and identifying the playing skills and difficulties contained in the nocturne with the development of the instructions and exercises proposed by the researcher to perform these difficulties in order to produce the nocturne in the required manner the research, the researcher used the descriptive method as a content analysis, at the end of the research recommended the necessity of studying the works of the twentieth century because they contain advanced technical and playing skills that work on developing the playing abilities of the piano student, and include the compositions of nocturne piano OP.56 by Francis Poulenc for the piano student, within the playing curricula for the postgraduate stage of the college.
