Abstract EN

The present research aims to identifying for some demographic variables such as gender, specialization, place of residence, which can affect the level of internet addiction among a sample of students of the faculty of education.

the sample comprised 400 male and female students, 38 males, 362 females from the college of education in Qena.

their age ranged between 18-21, with mean age 19.20 and a standard deviation 0.758.

the research used the following tools: internet addiction scale prepared by (Arnaut 2013), demographic data form prepared by (researcher), and the results of the research concluded the following: there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample students on the internet addiction scale according to gender (males-females)in favor of males, and there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample students on the internet addiction scale according to the (scientific-literary) specialization in favor of the literary specialization, there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample students on the internet addiction scale according to the(urban- rural) in favor of urban residents.
