Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to measure the effectiveness of a program based on the approach of current events in the subject of national education to develop the awareness of secondary school students with special needs of their rights and their attitudes towards them.

to fulfil the purpose of the research the researcher used the descriptive research and the quasi-experimental research with the one group design, collect theoretical back ground about current events, the rights of people with special needs, and the characteristics of students with special needs, then preparing the research tools (the scale of attitudes of students with special needs towards their rights, and testing the attitudes of people with special needs), and it was applied to the research group consisting of (12) male and female students of the students of al-Noor school for the blind in Giza governorate, and the research found a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.01) between the mean scores of the students of the research group in the pre and post application of the scale of attitudes of rights of people with special needs towards their rights, and of the scale of awareness of the rights of people with special needs as a whole, and for each dimension separately in favor of the dimensional application.

based on the findings, a set of the recommendations and further research are highlighted.
