Abstract EN

The preventive approach is one of the relatively recent trends in the social work profession in general and in the Arab world and developing countries in particular, the social worker uses this approach before the problem occurs, with the aim of preventing it from appearing or avoiding its occurrence.

social work assists individuals, groups, organizations and societies to acquire preventive skills for protection and prevention of various problems, social work, when it sets preventive goals in its field of interest and is used in its practice before the occurrence of the problem, does not represent a reaction to problems-as in the therapeutic approach-it helps the social worker to save time, effort, costs and the therapeutic burden, this study seeks to shed light on the preventive approach from the perspective of the social work profession.

shedding light on the preventive approach from the perspective of the social work profession confirms the importance of this approach in saving time, effort and costs when practicing this profession, and explains how the social worker can practice this approach to help people and clients avoid falling into the clutches of problems, delinquency, crime, addiction and terrorism.

the current research presented a definition of the concept of prevention, the preventive approach, the foundations, procedures, axes of the preventive approach, and degrees of prevention, at the end of the research, a number of recommendations were presented for more attention, education, research and practice of the preventive approach in the social work profession.
