This article aims to introduce personal diaries, and indicate the most important models that were written in the intermediate and modern periods, with an attempt to monitor the differences and similarities in each stage.

the research concluded that the writers of this type were most, if not all, of the educated class, including scholars or clergymen add to this the travellers, the topics dealt with in the intermediate period in general did not go beyond the scope of religion, but in modern period it was concerned with the events of the era, but without deviating from the general order of the state.
