The paper shows how some scholars employ the theory of the essence of meaning in verifying the trueness of words with unspecific attributes.

according to the theory that provides a different interpretation of the common linguistic form, words are not put for denotative meanings, where they are real in it and figurative in others, but for rational meanings.

the figurative meanings may be the same, or the collective meanings of all the meanings that the word is used to denote, whether denotative or intelligible.

therefore, it is not essential to prove its facts of being similar to Allah almighty.

scholars have adopted it in their interpretation of unspecific attributes, such as Abu Hamid al-Ghazali in some of his books and al-Tabatibai in his interpretation.

it can also be noted unintentionally in some of ibn-Taymia’s books, as well as Alim Sabeit al-Nili; the founder of the intentional approach.
