Methods: A descriptive cross- sectional Correlation study was used.

A convenient sample of 141midwives was used .Data were collected using questionnaire.

Data analysis was conducted using chi square of independence used to find association between categorical data ,simple liner regression was used for relationship between knowledge and practice score alpha level set at ≤0.05 considered statistically significant with power of 80% and data analyzed by using IBM SPSS software verision.

25, Results: Showed 50(35.5%) of participants had low level of knowledge about AMTSL, 24(17%) had moderate level of knowledge about AMTSL, and 67(47.5%) had a high level of knowledge about AMTSL.

11(7.8%) of participants reported low level of practice about AMTSL, the majority 80(56.7%) had a moderate level of practice and 50(35.5%) reported a high level of practice about AMTSL.

There is a positive moderate correlation between knowledge score and practice score, knowledge score increases by one unit the practice score increases by 1.221 unit (r=0.439, Beta 1.221, p<0.001).

Conclusions: There is a positive correlation between knowledge about AMTSL and practice.

Knowledge and practices about AMTSL among midwives in the south of Jordan need to be improved, because AMTSL is a highly effective intervention that decreases the incidence of PPH, and thus reduce maternal mortality rate in Jordan
