Settlement features have prevailed in the Samarra region since prehistoric times and the subsequent historical eras that appeared in separate parts, especially in the north and south of the city.

During those ages, between the various population settlements, and irrigation projects, most of which consisted of large river courses, in addition to the relatively large number of Christian monasteries that spread in the region, and thus, the continuity of settlement in them carried more evidence related to the importance of the region in several respects.
