The cuneiform writings on the editions of the seals of employees in the third era of Ur provided valuable information on holding and inheriting positions during that period.

These writings show us that some of these jobs were transferred from father to son and then grandchildren and were inherited within the family over many years.

The father held a particular job in exchange for the children's employment for other jobs in the Sumerian Royal Court.

We were able to draw from the writings on the editions of the seals of the employees and compare some of these writings with other writings on the editions of the seals of the fathers, brothers, and children of these employees.

We compared their names by looking at the relation (father's name) in the cuneiform text written on the seal, since it was common in the third era of Ur to mention the ancestry lineage by mentioning the name of the father over the name of the tribe.
