Abstract EN

The research deals with the city of Aššur (the citadel of Sharqat) from 614 BC.

It was the year of its fall by the Chaldaeans and the Allied Median, to overthrow the Assyrian state.

The rule of the Babylonian dynasty lasted about 75 years, until it was over thrown by Cyrus II of the Achaemenian (539 BC).

It is noticeable from what came in the reports of the archaeological surveys and excavations carried out by foreign and Iraqi missions that the archaeological settlements in Upper Mesopotamia and attributed to that era (Babylonian or Chaldaean) few, but rare, and cannot compare the scene of what was the country of Babylon at that time.

And The discovery of some architectural and pottery evidence scattered in the buildings of the city of Assyria, in particular, despite their scarcity, is new evidence of the existence of a Chaldean settlement in this city.
