Islamic banking operations arose during the sixties of the last century and were regulated by legal texts in various countries of the Islamic world, the last of which was the Tunisian law, which required the submission of these banking operations to Islamic principles, the most important of which is the prohibition of usury.

It also defines and regulates the most important Islamic banking operations, which are derived from the sale contract, or the investment accounts.

Tunisian law also regulates sukuk as a type of securities whose creation and circulation are subject to Islamic controls.

However, there are many difficulties encountered in Islamic banking operations, the most important of which is the absence of financing mechanisms from the financial markets without a surplus.

Debt transfer or borrowing from financial market institutions is not subject to Islamic controls
