Parliamentary elections were held in Iraq on 30 January 2005, which produced the Transitional National Assembly, which carries out drafting tasks of the Constitution.

The National Assembly formed among its members a committee to draft the draft constitution, consisting of 55 members, Where the Committee issued the first Constitution of the Permanent Republic.

Article 1 of this Constitution states that "The Republic of Iraq is a Full sovereignty and One federal state with an independent republican government, democratic, parliamentary system, And this constitution guarantees the unity of Iraq".

The President of the Republic of Iraq enjoys the many powers and competencies stipulated in Article 73 of the 2005 Constitution, including the ratification of death sentences.

We will discuss this research on the death penalty in two articles and four demands.

The first topic will be on the concept of the death penalty and the conflict between those who support it and those who demand its abolition.

We will divide the discussion by explaining this subject to two requirements.
