English Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify the roles of the principals of the middle schools and the extent to which they played their roles in the governorate of Al-Farwaniya Kuwait State as well as the extent to which the responses the teachers of middle schools related to gender, specilization, and experience.

The study population consists of all teachers of middle stage ( 2735 ) teachers.The sample of the study consisted of ( 456 ) teachers which selected by the random cluster method.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed a questionnaire consisted of ( 33 ) items, which distribured into four dimensions ( The administrative and technical role, supervisory, social, and the educational activities ).

The result of the study found that the level of performance of middle school principals from teachers' perspective was high, and statistically significant differences in the extent to which middle school principals played their functional roles were attributed to gender in favor of female teachers.

Also the result indecated there were no stastical significant differences attributed to the variables of specialization,and experience.

The study recommended providing an appropriate organizational climate and an interactive environment that contribute to the development of the functional roles of school principals and condecting training programs for school principals on the latest trends in educational supervision to improve teachers' standards and improve their performance
