English Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze the level of influence of the security and economic interests on the Russian-European relations and the Russian relations with Germany and France during the period 2008- 2017.

The study is based on the following premise : "Security and economic interests represent an important axis in determining the course of Russian- European relations and French, German specifically, "and the study was based on the methodology of foreign policy analysis and the method of systems analysis and descriptive historical approach.

The study concluded that relations between the EU and Russia are based on mutual interests, both economic and security.

EU countries invest more in Russia than Russia does in Europe.

Europe relies on Russia for energy resources, but Russia relies on advance European technology.

In the oil exploration and extraction industries, However, the security aspect is a key determinant in the Russian-European relations and highlights this through the development of Russian military power in the field of advanced industries at the level of nuclear weapons and missile, In addition to the Russian interventions in Ukraine and the Crimea, which Europe sees as a threat to its national security.
