English Abstract

This study aimed to showcase the Methodology of Holy Quran in Confronting Extremism.

The study required following more than one method including the inductive approach through checking relevant Quranic verses, The study addressed the definition of research terms lexically and contextually, demonstrating the term extremism is a modern one but has origins in the dictionaries and relevant words indicating it.

The study also addressed the history of extremism from the time of Adam until contemporary time.

It then moved to talk about the forms of extremism, its causes and effects, illustrating a strong relation between extremism in the past and extremism in the present time.

Afterwards, the study aimed to research the methods of Holy Quran in confronting extremism through preaching for those who didn't fall in extremism, through call for moderation and dialogue for those who fell in the clutches of extremism without being excessive, and by activating the role scholars and application of Sharia prescribed penalties for those who are very extreme and resorted to terrorism.
