Abstract EN

This research seeks to study the impact of the possibility of meeting in proving companionship and in determining the classes of companions, as explained by Ibn Hajar in his book Al-Isabah.

It aims to answer several questions, the most important of which is the reason why Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar included a number of narrators who met the Prophet (BPUH) in the section that deals with the companions and the denial of companionship of their likes.

Is this a method adopted by other compilers of the companions? What is his approach in his books other than Al-Isabah? Through probing and following the narrators in Al-Isabah, the study adopts the descriptive and analytical approach to reach clear results with regard to the raised issues.

The research concluded with several results, the most important of which is that the possibility of meeting has a clear effect on proving the companionship as seen by Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar and that the latter had used it to include a large number of narrators among the Companions.

He also used it to deny the companionship of others who have the same perception.

Besides, the possibility of meeting has an effect on the four classifications of the companions and on the controls of proving companionship as viewed by Ibn Hajar in Al-Isabah.

In fact, he restricted some controls and expanded others, given the availability of the limits of the possibility of meeting and their absence.

Among the important results is that the possibility of meeting by which companionship is proven has its limitations according to Ibn Hajar, the most significant of which is observing the temporal and spatial limits of the possibility of meeting.

The research also concluded that Al-Hafiz adopted this approach in his books other than Al-Isabah, which indicates the stability and consistency of his approach.
