فتحت مدرسة الحوليات الفرنسية في التاريخ آفاقا جديدة أمام الباحثين، بسعيها لتجديد مناهج الكتابة التاريخية و أدواتها و مصادرها و إشكالاتها و مواضيعها، من خلال انفتاحها على العلوم الاجتماعية الأخرى.
و كان هدف مؤسسيها كسر جمود المدرسة الوضعية التقليدية و قيودها، فانفتحت على حقول الاقتصاد و علوم الاجتماع و الأنثروبولوجيا و الديموغرافيا، و أغرقت في تحليل المعطيات الكمية و الإحصاءات بوصفها أدوات فعالة لتجسيد مشروعها التجديدي الذي أطلقه رائداها الأولان مارك بلوك و لوسيان فيفر، و الذي واصله و رسخ أسسه فرنان برودال و إرنست لابروس، و حاولا بعث نفس جديد فيه أقطاب "التاريخ الجديد".
كان ثمن النجاح على الساحة الأكاديمية الفرنسية أزمة هوية التاريخ بوصفه "علما" مستقلا بذاته، بعد أن بدا كأنه يذوب في علوم الاجتماع و الأنثروبولوجيا و الديموغرافيا التي حاول تسخيرها لفائدته.
تتناول الدراسة هذه التجربة التاريخية الفريدة من نوعها، التي هيمنت على البحث التاريخي في فرنسا قرابة قرن من الزمن، بالرجوع إلى فترات تطورها و أجيالها المتعاقبة و الشخصيات البارزة التي كان لها دور مهم في أطوار التأسيس و الترسيخ و محاولة التجديد و الأزمة.
و تختتم ببيان أهم خصائص مدرسة الحوليات الفرنسية و إضافاتها إلى البحث التاريخي.
ننشر هنا القسم الثاني من الدراسة، و كنا قد نشرنا قسمها الأول في العدد الرابع عشر من دورية أسطور.
Abstract EN
The French Annales School opened up new horizons for researchers through its efforts to renew the methodology, tools, sources and objects of historiography by drawing on other social sciences.
Its founders Mark Bloch and Lucien Febvre and their successors Ferdinand Braudel and Ernest Labrousse aimed to break with the stagnant and tightly constrained vision of traditional positivist historians, drawing on economics, sociology, anthropology and demography and making heavy use of quantitative data and statistics.
The price of their success within French academia, however, was a crisis of identity for history as an "independent" discipline.
This paper traces the unique historical trajectory of the Annales School, which remained dominance within French history departments for almost a century, assessing the different stages in its development, the different generations of prominent personalities who played a major role in these different stages, and its remarkable contribution to the discipline of history.
