In 1962, Algeria achieved its independence, which it had aspired to, which was not achieved until after a great revolution and a long struggle by the Algerian people, which culminated in the signing of the Evian treaty on 3/19/1962.

the woes because of colonialism, but the recent events that Algeria has known and the voices that have been raised about the need to amend the Evian agreement, as politicians and the ancient mujahidin have criticized this agreement, it has become seen as an indirect revival of French colonialism.
