The strategy of the economic diversification in general, and the diversification of exports outside hydrocarbons in particular, is considered as an essential axis in the formulation the economic policies of countries and a driving force for economic growth.

this study aims to estimate the relationship directions between the exports outside hydrocarbons and economic growth in Algeria during the period (1990-2020).

the results of the econometric study found stable variables at the level and others in the first difference, which necessitated the application of the ARDL model.

where it was found that there is no long-term equilibrium relationship between exports outside hydrocarbons and economic growth.

which means that its impact is weak in the short term as a result of the rent model of Algerian economy, where oil exports represented 90.52% of total exports in 2020.

the issue of economic diversification in Algeria remains subject to overcome the challenges that stands in the way of diversifying the economy, by adopting a long-term strategy for economic diversification that ensures the elimination of dependence on oil resources.
