The impasse in the management of the Western Sahara conflict highlights the relevance of the resolution process that began in 1991.
In a continuously evolving context, regional and international developments, a review of the Western Sahara conflict seems appropriate.
This review of the conflict aims to identify solutions to achieve the decolonization of the Sahrawi territories.
This paper argues that the resolution process should evolve with time.
Therefore, the status quo policy adopted by the Morrocan Government thus far can only be interpreted as an illusion in a system biased by Realpolitik which should be both rational and pragmatic.

L'impasse que connait la gestion du conflit du Sahara occidentale, nous éclaire au sujet de la pertinence de son processus de règlement, entamé depuis 1991.
Dans un contexte évolutif et de reconfigurations régionales et internationales, en mutation continue, une relecture des différentes perspectives possibles de gestion du conflit du Sahara occidental semble toute indiquée.
Le but étant d'identifier des dispositions qui amèneraient à redynamiser le processus de décolonisation des territoires sahraouis.
Cette analyse nous renseigne que les règles du jeu ne sont pas figées dans le temps.
Ainsi la politique du fait accomplis pratiquée par la Maroc, pourrait n'être qu'illusoire dans un système biaisé par une Realpolitik qui se veut aussi rationnelle que pragmatique.
