Abstract EN

The establishment of a factory for the manufacture of chemical fertilizers in waist governorate is one of the important and profitable strategic projects, and the project requires good planning and appropriate study before implementation, and in Iraq there are large areas of agricultural land in actual need of large quantities of chemical fertilizers to achieve agricultural production comparable to other sectors in terms of quantity and quality.

the chemical fertilizer production project is one of the most complex projects, as it consists of many parts and functions, starting from the receipt of natural gas, passing through the stage of chemical reactions to the stage of storage and marketing, in addition to the supporting and accompanying services to the production process, and this work and various service are reflected in the conditions and rules which controls the basis for the design of the plant, and when designing the plant it is necessary at the end of the work to evaluate the necessary requirements, the actual functional requirements and the budget available to them.

the research reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which is the lack of chemical fertilizers despite the availability of human and material capabilities, in addition to the availability of raw materials represented by natural gas accompanying the oil extraction process.

the proposed project provides about (300) job opportunities for a range of different specializations.

the research concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is that Wasit governorate has a comparative advantage in agricultural production and the presence of large areas of agricultural land in need of large quantities of chemical fertilizers.

the criteria, all criteria indicated that the project is economically feasible and benefits the governorate in particular and the country in general, and even the project's lifespan is appropriate from the researcher's point of view because such projects are huge, as they are capital-intensive and need continuous development.
