Abstract EN

This study deals with the circular economy subject, which is an important approach for achieving sustainable development, responding to the needs of generations for natural resources, contributing to the environmental protection through recycling, and establishing a strong waste management industry in the United Arab Emirates.

The importance of this study reveals from the importance of the research topic; As it is a new attempt to reveal the importance of the circular economy as a mechanism for waste management, and achieving sustainable development goals through the main factors to achieve this goal.

This study aims to highlight the role of the circular economy in creating a balance between achieving development and protecting the environment, clarifying the jurisprudence of recycling, its policy and its strategies as a mechanism for waste management and achieving sustainable development goals, extracting the most important policies and proposed mechanisms to establish an economic and legislative environment to activate the circular economy in the Arab Emirates , and identifying the role of active actors in the transition process to the circular economy, and its requirements in waste management; With a full explanation of its challenges and obstacles.

The result of the study reveals that the main reason for applying the circular economy is that it is an important approach to achieve the sustainable development, at a time when the linear (traditional) economy drains the reserves of raw materials, creates pressure on limited natural resources, and leads to production of a huge amount of wastes and Junks.
