Aprecautionary suspension or "Cessation" is one of the preventive investigative measures aimed at temporarily suspending the public servant from his duties for the purpose of the administrative investigation.

This applied when s/he commits a violation or committing a crime, to be carried out without his influences, and being accordingly more realistic and due course.

Furthermore, such a way preserves the public service and its dignity.

States usually seeks the best legal regulation to suspend the public servants from working to balance between the public interest and the private interest of the public service.

This comparative study analyses the legal regulation in both UAE and Jordanian legislation.
