Abstract EN

The process of choosing the optimum locations for establishing schools thatcommensurate with population and the number of students requires taking into accounta set of criteria and factors to be dealt with, as well as studying the current situation ofthe existing institutions to find out the spread of those institutions and to highlight thedeficiencies by using the statistical tools of spatial analysis such as the (Spatial mean) aswell as the standard distance by using the standard ellipse.

It is concluded that the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software has a greatpotential in determining the locations of the crowded schools by calculating the numbersof students and the total population.

It is also concluded that there is an obvious lack ofkindergartens in the region under investigation because they are located only in the citycentre as compared to the number of the primary schools.

The institutions were dividedinto three levels in terms of importance (highly important, important and less important).
