Abstract EN

Hotels are one of the main pillars in the success of the tourism activity process in countries that have various tourism potentials.

Because the hotel classification within all of its various types, reflects the level of hotels and their degrees of sophistication and the quality of the services they provide.

In the holy city of Karbala, the hotel classification was adopted at the level of degrees and stars to express those hotels and their services provided within the circumstances of the country at the level of hotel supply and demand, especially in the field of hotel accommodation within that relationship.

This research seeks for available data and statistics within a time series from 2010 to 2017 seeks in order to determine the role of hotel classification in knowing the trends of accommodation demand for tourist and popular hotels in Karbala Governorate.

The Arbaeen pilgrimage, which embodied the heroic role of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his family, is one of the most important components of religious tourism, as it occupies the first place in the holy city of Karbala, being one of the annual activities of spiritual rituals of the loyalists to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) because it carry a religious and ideological feature to them, which illustrates the status of a religious governorate, attention must be paid to the most important components of tourism services, which are hotel hospitality to fulfill the pilgrimage's wishes and comfort.
