Abstract EN

The present paper is concerned with the correlation between art and science and knowledge, analytically reading the thought and philosophy of Hassam Mohie-al-Din al-Alusi; he views art as a third dimension of understanding that corresponds to science, given the fact that these two concepts (art & science) are particularly considered among the basic terms of epistemology, which means that, through these two terms, al-Aulis tries to understand man as an independent form of consciousness; this is because art takes on an important aspect of understanding the individual in particular, and the society in general.

furthermore, this indicates that art, in correlation with science, has an additional value; one cannot dispense with the other even though there are differences between them, for the reason that each of these concepts (art and science) has a different reality in mind.

thus, the researcher attempts, in the present paper, to link these two concepts with the epistemology theory as they are strongly connected; though creativity in scientific applications, in all areas, is vastly visible in our daily life, it is highly noticeable in art as well.
