Prophecies gain great importance in Greek society where the temples and priests had an active role in consulting the kings, rulers, and people before starting to do anything, whether on the personal, political, or military (invasion) levels as well as all other matters.

the present study aims to clarify what the father of history, Herodotus, mentioned about the importance and impact of myths and prophecies in the course of life of the Greek society and the temples addressing prophecy, and the circumstances surrounding it that sometimes made it a tool in the hands of those who possess power or financial influence and its reflection on society.
