The content of the study in this research is the issue of the sentence and its structure and its importance in the functional grammar, and the importance and significance of the function in the grammar that goes along with the structure.

The Dutch scientist “Simon Dick” is grateful for laying down its rules and we do not forget the merit of the Arab world “Ahmed Al-Mutawakil” in transmitting this theory and establishing this theory in our Arab world, and no science or theory will appear without its origins, relationships and bonds linking it to its peer, as the functional grammar cannot be isolated from the surroundings in which it was born.

Functional grammar has a descriptive device that is the nucleus of functional grammar and one of its important pillars by which it proves its structure, and its characteristics and relationships that define it, components and patterns that show it.
