When one intends to write a book in a certain field of knowledge, he organizes his thoughts logically and deeply explores the terms related to his topic in order to divide and classify them.

thus, the aim of the book is achieved through building a considered conception.

further, the reason behind the division & classification of the book is quite obvious as it is declared.

however, it is hidden sometimes where the writer’s intention in his division is revealed from the writer’s inclusion within a large circle in the science in which he writes.

sometimes, division & classification reveal the opinions and jurisprudence that the writer sees.

this paper seeks to put 'al Kafi in morphology' book in its cognitive context and investigate some foundations, rules and premises on which sheikh Mohammed Yusuf Attafayyish built the division & classification of his book, and to what extent they are useful in achieving the book's aim.

therefore, the study is divided into two axes: -putting the book in its context -the foundations of division & classification.
