The research focused on showing the archeological and architectural plans of the villages of Mosul and its environs and its long history since the Islamic conquest until the end of the Ottoman era.

Old Mosul, and on the banks of the Tigris River on the left and right sides, the eastern fortress on the banks of the Tigris River on its eastern side, and the western fort on the bank of the Tigris River on its western side, which merged into its neighborhoods and old shops and became within its borders Administrative and geographical areas, while the external villages were distributed around the city of Mosul and its environs, which extend within the areas along the Tigris River and its tributaries, within the basin of the Khabur River, Upper Zab, Lower Zab, Khazar and Khosr, as well as villages and towns located in the mountains, hills, valleys, And the Western plateaus and deserts of the south and its plains, which retained its plans and geographical locations, and its archaeological sites, and its names and terminology, which were during the Ottoman era, included religious, civil, administrative, scientific, service and commercial Defense and military, distributed throughout the villages of Mosul and its towns and areas.
