A definition of the gender approach to sociological studies and methods applied by researchers within its frame are presented by way of laying a background for the examination of the research methodologies adopted by self -proclaimed feminist groups as well as mainstream NGOs in their respective studies» :imagined «by the first and executed by the second.

An attempt is made to explain commonalities between methodological approaches in sociological studies in general and those executed by mainstream feminist NGOs ,as well as between declared approaches by the young feminist groups with the implicit ones in studies executed by mainstream feminist NGOs.
