Abstract EN

This paper embarks on the investigation of areas deemed neglected in Arabic grammatical and linguistic studies and scholarships.

Various phonological, morphological, syntactic, and orthographic issues in early Standard Arabic scholarship have been left uninvestigated due to their problematic and controversial nature.

Among these issues were deletion, substation, vocative insertion, pre-plural preposition, vowel mutation, possible quadrilateral root, lexical neologisms, and possible new root.

This paper, therefore, questions these issues, justifies their emergence, and elaborates on scholarly attitudes as to acceptability and rejection.
